Release Dates. UK: 16 marzo 1973 - USA: 1° marzo 1973 - Italy: 26 marzo 1973.

Release Notes.  La data di effettiva uscita del disco è sempre stata oggetto di discussioni tra i collezionisti e gli storici della band, anche se tutti sono d'accordo che il disco uscì prima negli USA e poi in Inghilterra. Le date accettate da tempo erano quella del 10 marzo (per l'uscita del disco negli USA) e del 23 marzo (per l'uscita in terra inglese). Ma la ricerca di Glenn Povey per il suo ultimo libro del 2016 non lascia più tanti dubbi e fa cambiare le date di uscita del disco, allineandole a quelle che pochi collezionisti avevano ipotizzato. Il disco uscì prima negli USA, come confermato da alcuni collezionisti americani, che comprarono il disco i primi giorni di marzo del 1973; la sua pubblicità su riviste come "Billboard" e "New Musical Express" ebbe inizio già dal 24 febbraio 1973 (Billboard), ma la data di uscita fu spostata al 1° marzo 1973, secondo i dirigenti della Capitol, per via dell'imminente tour americano (prima data: 4 marzo 1973 a Madison); rilevanti gli articoli di "New Musical Express" del 3 marzo 1973 e del 10 marzo 1973 e soprattutto "Billboard" del 10 marzo 1973 (quest'ultimo articolo era il motivo che fece ipotizzare da parte di parecchi collezionisti l'uscita dell'album il 10 marzo). Successivamente, fu la volta dell'Inghilterra, dove la data ufficiale sarebbe quella del 16 marzo 1973 (sebbene ci fosse stata la famosa presentazione al Planetarium di Londra del 27 febbraio 1973), come dimostrano alcuni adverts su "Melody Maker" del 3 marzo 1973 (che annuncia chiaramente l'uscita dell'album per il venerdì 16 marzo 1973), su "New Musical Express" del 17 marzo 1973 ed un articolo del Record Mirror della stessa data; il disco era già in classifica per la prima settimana il 24 marzo 1973 (4° posto; la settimana successiva raggiunse già il primo posto).

Brief Statistics.

(1) Stranezze del disco. Proprio dopo la fine di Eclipse, durante il battito del cuore, qualcuno dice la famosa frase "There is no dark side of the moon, really, matter of fact it's all dark" ("In realtà non c'è nessun lato scuro della luna… in effetti è tutto scuro"): in realtà è la voce di Jerry Driscoll, portiere degli Abbey Road Studios.

- C'è un piccolo errore nel testo di Breathe (i cui accordi che chiudono il ritornello vennero ispirati a Wright da un disco di Miles Davis degli anni '50, Kind of Blue),  in tutte le versioni in vinile del disco. Infatti, nel testo stampato all'interno della copertina del vinile, viene riportata la frase: "...don't sit down it's time to start another one...". Invece, i testi originali ed anche il testo cantato, erano: "...don't sit down, it's time to dig another one...".

- Un altro errore, meno famoso del primo, è nel testo scritto di Money: sulla riga del testo all'interno della copertina dei vinili viene riportato un refuso, "...I'm all right Jack keep your hands *of* my stack...", invece del testo corretto "...I'm all right Jack keep your hands *off* of my stack...". Solo nelle nuove ristampe della Pink Floyd Records gli errori sono corretti all'interno della copertina, inserendo le due parole giuste (rispettivamente, "dig" e "off")

- La canzone di Breathe è stranamente riportata in quasi tutte le edizioni come Breathe in the air sull'etichetta, pur restando normale nella scaletta della copertina; le eccezioni sono in Austria, Canada, Cecoslovacchia, Corea (tranne la stampa ufficiale della EMI), Germania, Germania Est, Francia (tranne la prima edizione), Guatemala, Spagna, Svizzera, Taiwan, Turchia (tranne la stampa della EMI-Kent) e U.S.A. . Inoltre, il titolo nelle edizioni di lingua spagnola è tradotto in quattro modi differenti: Respira, Respira en el aire, Respirar e Aliento en el aire.

Title-Sticker Notes: La presenza o meno dell'adesivo rotondo con il titolo sulle schede dei singoli dischi è puramente statistica, in quanto, in mancanza di notizie ufficiali delle stamperie, vengono riportati solo nelle edizione dove vi è la certezza della sua presenza; in caso di nuovi elementi, basta scrivere al webmaster mediante email.
