Taiwan Notes.
"The Dark Side of the Moon" è stato in generale il disco più venduto dei Floyd a Taiwan. Come si vede sotto, ci furono parecchie case che stamparono questo album, con differenti uscite, a cominciare dalla storica Giant Records. Ma il motivo di tanta popolarità non stava nel fatto che era il più famoso e conosciuto album dei Pink Floyd, oppure il più famoso della musica pop occidentale. La ragione principale stava nel fatto che a Taiwan era famosissimo un programma Tv chiamato "60 Minutes" e per la sua sigla era usato l'assolo di chitarra di "Time", mixato con il "battito del cuore" di "Speak to Me" (un po' come "One of These Days" fu la sigla di "Dribbling" in Italia). Per cui, ogni persona a Taiwan conosceva quel pezzo. Altra curiosità delle stampe cinesi: in quasi tutte le copertine della Union e della Giant vi era un errore sulla colorazione dei raggi del prisma; infatti, i raggi colorati avevano una sequenza sbagliata rispetto al disegno originale di Storm Thorgenson: in queste stampe cinesi i colori erano in sequenza "verde scuro - verde chiaro - giallo - arancione - rosso - blu cobalto", mentre la disposizione originaria è "rosso - arancione - giallo - verde - azzurro - viola".Taiwan Rights Notes. Parecchi collezionisti ritengono che tutte le stampe stampate a Taiwan siano "non ufficiali"; Discogs stesso le riporta come "Unofficial Release". Noi non siamo d'accordo con questa versione, le etichette cinesi che stampavano dischi a Taiwan erano legali, ed i dischi venivano stampati usando lacquer locali, modificati da master inglesi o americani. In ogni caso, è più corretto dire che forse non avevano la "licenza" ufficiale per stampare ("Un-licensed"). Questi dischi hanno comunque un buon impatto collezionistico e certamente vengono ricercati, e vengono, comunque, presi in considerazione nelle due principali discografie mondiali.
Taiwan LP Notes. Non tutti sanno che in Cina continentale (Repubblica Popolare Cinese) non è mai stata realizzata alcuna edizione di LP dei Pink Floyd. Qui stampavano solo CD ed alcune poche cassette di "The dark side of the moon" e "The wall"; una delle prime è abbastanza rara, pubblicata dalla casa editrice Qinghai Xinghui Audio - Visual Publishing nel 1993, circolata in pochissime copie. Tutti gli LP "cinesi" sono stati stampati e messi in circolazione a Taiwan o a Hong Kong/Singapore (vedi la OST "The legend of 1900" emessa in 1000 copie numerate solo per il mercato di Honk Kong). In Cina continentale, quindi, non esistono edizioni LP dei Pink Floyd, come erroneamente riportato negli anni '90 su alcune liste, qualcuna anche oggi.
