First love
In the second Chapter of Revelation, the Lord says: I know your works, your toil and your perseverance, so you cannot bear the wicked [...]. But I do blame you for abandoning your first love.
Remember therefore from where you have fallen, converted and you complete the works of before», that is you have lost the love of a time toward God. Today how many do what Jesus said? There are many people who speak of God, but those who really want to convert and bend to His will.
There are very few who meditate on these words of the Apocalypse, yet with them God addresses us all: I have only one thing to reproach you, you have lost your first love, you have lost the love of the past, it is the invitation to return to the First Love.
It means returning to prayer, to silence, to leave sin, bad habits, worldly desires, in short, to leave everything to return to the original relationship with Jesus as when we got converted and married his Gospel.
At the beginning we gave up many things with diligence and joy because in us we perceived His love, then with time we slowly recovered everything, we were attracted again by everything, by greed, by desires.
We got used to His presence, so we lost the initial momentum, we stopped talking to Him, doing things for Him with that vision that transcends the human.
We must return to His source and beseech Him to come to us to find Him beside us, to help us in our difficulties, for our forces alone are not enough to overcome them. We must renounce pride and humble ourselves by bending our knees, to repent of the evil committed for the offense made to the Love of God. We must do as the blind man of Gèrico.
(Lk 18,35-43)
To attract Jesus' attention, he cried louder and louder. Every man who turns away from God, enters into the darkness that makes him a blind man; and then we too must cry out with all our soul: "Son of David, Jesus, have mercy on me!".
Those who walked ahead reproached him for being silent, but he cried even louder»: these are the bearers of the disturbances of our thought, of temptations, they are the vices of the world that want to stifle the voice of our heart in prayer, who instead wants to overcome sins. But the blind man does not give up because he desires to receive the light despite these obstacles.
We too, even in the tumult of desires, must insist in prayer, we must overcome all that the voice of our heart, to the point of making our cry reach the ear of the Lord and how, says the Gospel, Jesus comes to ask us also "What do you want me to do for you?".
At that moment the Lord calls you to get out of the darkness, but in answering his question: "What do you want me to do for you?". You could understand that ultimately you want many things of the world, but not Jesus; then do not get lost, do not let yourself be disoriented by them, but beg him to give you back the light: "Jesus I want to see again".
"Have no debt to anyone but to love one another; for he who loves his neighbour has fulfilled the Law. In fact, the Commandments: "Do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, do not say false witness, do not desire" and any other commandment, are summarized in this: "Love your neighbor as yourself". Love does no harm to the neighbour; love therefore is the fulfillment of the Law".
(Roman 13:8-10)
"He who does not love has not known God, because` God and` love. In this is manifested the love of God for us, whom God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atonement for our sins.
Beloved, if God has loved us in this way, we too must love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God dwells in us and His love is perfect in us.
From this we know that we dwell in Him and He in us, for He has given us of His Spirit. And we ourselves have seen and witnessed that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whoever acknowledges that Jesus` is the Son of God, God dwells in him and he in God.
And we have known and believed in the love that God has for us.

God and love, and he who dwells in love dwells in God and God in him".
