The host transformed into flesh

Human intelligence is hard to believe that the bread and wine can be transformed into real flesh and real blood of Jesus, for in the act of consecration is nothing visible under the eyes of humans, while faith leads to firmly believe in the words of Jesus.

Eucharistic Miracles confirm precisely the words of Jesus and, in fact, strengthen the faith and demonstrate the real presence of the Body and Blood of the Lord in the Eucharistic bread.

These facts prodigious challenge our rationality that finds it hard to surrender to the supernatural, but to God nothing is impossible nor that "In the bread to be concealed from the humanity of Jesus."

Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano, 700 d.C.

Ancient Anxanum the Frentani keep for over twelve centuries the first and greatest Eucharistic Miracle of the Catholic Church.
This miracle happened in seconds. VIII d. C., in the little church of San Legonziano, for the doubt of a Monaco basilica in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. During the celebration of Holy Mass, without the double consecration, the host became live Flesh and wine changed into live Blood, clotted blood cells into five irregular and different shapes and sizes.

The Host-Flesh, as now it looks very good, has great size of the host currently in use in the Latin Church, is slightly brown and goes all rosy when viewed through.

Blood is coagulated, ashen color, to yellow-ocher. The meat, from 1713, is preserved in a silver monstrance artistic, finely chiselled, the Neapolitan school. Blood is contained in a phial of rich and ancient rock crystal.

The Friars Minor Conventual keeps the miracle since 1252, at the behest of the bishop of Chieti, Landulfo, and with papal bull of 12.5.1252.
Previously it had succeeded the Basilian monks until 1176 and the Benedictines until 1252.

In 1258 the Franciscans built the current sanctuary, which, in 700, underwent the transformation from Romanesque - Gothic baroque.

The "Miracle" was first placed in a chapel beside the high altar, then, from 1636, in a side altar of the nave, which retains its old case and the wrought iron memorial inscription.

Since 1902 the "miracle" is kept in the second tabernacle altar monument, built by Lanciano, in the middle of the chancel.

At various reconnaissance Church, conducted since 1574, followed in 1970-1971 and taken over in 1981, the scientific one, accomplished by Professor Edward Linoli, Lecturer in Anatomy and Pathological Histology and in Chemistry and Clinical Microscopy, assisted by Prof. Ruggero Bertelli University of Siena. The analysis, carried out with absolute scientific rigor and documented by a series of photographs under the microscope, gave these results: The Flesh is real Flesh. Blood is real Blood. Flesh and Blood belong to the human species. Flesh is a "HEART" complete in its essential structure. In the flesh are present, in section, the myocardium, the endocardium, the vagus nerve, and for the significant thickness of the myocardium, the left heart ventricle. Flesh and Blood have the same blood type: AB.

Blood proteins have been found normally divided by the relative percentages which are under serum proteins in normal fresh blood. Blood was also found minerals: Chloride, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium and Calcium.

The preservation of the Flesh and Blood miraculous left in their natural state for twelve centuries and an exposed to physical agent, atmospheric and biological agents, remains an extraordinary phenomenon.

In conclusion it can be said that Science, summoned, gave a definite answer and thorough about the authenticity of the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano.

We have received your letter, dear brother, telling us how young some suggestions from the bad advice of an evil woman, having received from the priest the Sacred Body of Christ, kept him in the mouth until the moment when, seized the opportunity favorable, it could hide in a cloth, where after three days, found the same Body, which had received in the form of bread, turned into flesh, as everyone can still see with his own eyes. Because one and the other woman you have everything humbly revealed, you want our opinion on the punishment to be imposed on offenders. First, we give thanks with all our strength to him who, while working in everything so wonderful, but occasionally repeated miracles and gives rise to new wonders, so that strengthen faith in the truths of the Catholic Church sustain hope, rekindling love, calls sinners, convert the wicked and confound the wickedness of heretics.
Therefore, dear brother, in the midst of this apostolic letter, have you impose a more lenient punishment for the young, which we believe has committed the criminal act for more weakness than of malice, especially as it is to believe that it is sufficiently repentant in confessing sin.

Then the instigator, who with his perversion pushed to commit sacrilege, after applying those disciplinary measures that we believe should be assigned to your policy requires that by visiting bishops closer, humbly confess his crime, begging, with devout submission, forgiveness."

The Pope portrayed the episode as a sign against the widespread heresies about the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and the two women forgave repentant.
