The New Ones - Heaven - Purgatory

1033 We cannot be united with God unless we choose to love Him freely. But we cannot love God if we sin gravely against him, against our neighbor or against ourselves: "Who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has in himself eternal life".
(1 Jn 3:14-15).

IV Hell

Our Lord warns us that we will be separated from him if not helpers in their serious needs of the poor and little ones who are his brothers. 628 To die in mortal sin without repentance and without having to accept God's merciful love means remaining separated from him forever by our own free choice. And it is this state of definitive self-exclusion from communion with God and the blessed, which is designated with the word 'hell'.

1034 Jesus repeatedly speaks of "Gehenna", the "unquenchable fire", 629 which is reserved for those who until the end of life, refuses to believe and convert, and where they can destroy both soul and body. 630 Jesus proclaims in words severe: "The Son of Man will send his angels, who [...] collect all the workers of iniquity and lay them in the fiery furnace" (Mt 13,41-42), and he pronounces the sentence: 'Street, away from me, cursed, into everlasting fire".
(Mt 25.41).

1035 The Church in her teaching affirms the existence of hell and its eternity. The souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin, after the death immediately descended to the underworld, where the pains of hell suffer, "the eternal fire." 631 Main punishment of hell is eternal separation from God, in which only men can have life and happiness for which it was created, and which aspires.

1036 Statements of Sacred Scripture and the teachings of the Church concerning the hell is an appeal to the responsibility with which man must use his freedom in view of his eternal destiny. Constitute at the same time an urgent call to conversion: "Enter the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and wide the path that leads to destruction, and many are those who come to it, how close is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and how few are those who find".
(Matthew 7:13-14).

"Because we do not know neither the day nor the hour, we must, as we advise the Lord who watches closely, so that, over the only course of our earthly life, we deserve him to enter the marriage feast and be numbered among the blessed nor is there a command, as a wicked and lazy servants, to go to everlasting fire, into outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

1037 God does not predestined anyone to go to hell; 633 this is the result of a voluntary aversion to God (a mortal sin), which persists to the end. In the Eucharistic liturgy and daily prayers of the faithful, the Church implores the mercy of God, who does not want "that any perish, but everyone has a way to repent" (2 Pet 3:9): 'Accept with kindness, O Lord the offer that you present us your ministers and your entire family, have your peace in our days, save us from eternal damnation, and welcome in the flock of the elect."

V. The final trial

1038 The resurrection of the dead, "the righteous and the unrighteous" (Acts 24.15), will precede the final assessment. Will be "the hour when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice [of the Son of Man] and come forth: those who have done good to the resurrection of life and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation" (Jn 5,28-29). Then Christ "will come in his glory, with all his angels [...]. It will be gathered before him all nations, and he will separate from each other, as the shepherd separates the sheep from goats, sheep and put on his right and the goats on his left. [...] And they will go to the eternal punishment and the righteous to eternal life".
(Mt 25,31-33.46).

1039 Faced with Christ which is the truth will be finally put to the naked truth about the relationship of each person with God 635 The final judgment manifest until its ultimate consequences, the good that everyone will have accomplished or have failed to make during his life earth: "All the evil that make the bad guys will be recorded without their knowledge. The day that God does not talk (Ps 50.3) [...] he will turn towards the evil and tell them I had put on my poor land, for you. I, their leader, was sitting in heaven at the right hand of my Father, but on earth my members were hungry. If you have donated to my members, your gift would come up to the head. When I put my poor on earth, I set up as your delivery lead because your good works in my treasure: you did not post anything in their hands, so do not have anything with me."

1040 The final assessment will take place at the time of the glorious return of Christ. Only the Father knows the hour and the day, he alone decides about his coming. Through his Son Jesus pronounces then his final word on all history. Know the ultimate meaning of the whole work of creation and of the entire economy of salvation, and understand the marvelous ways by which the divine providence has led everything towards its ultimate goal. The final trial that will manifest God's justice triumphs over all the injustices committed by his creatures and that his love is stronger than death.

1041 The message of the final judgment call to conversion so long as God gives to men 'the time, the day of salvation" (2 Cor 6:2). Inspires the holy fear of God commits for justice of the kingdom of God proclaims the "blessed hope" (Titus 2:13) of the return of the Lord who "will come to be glorified in his saints and to be recognized in all those wonderful that have believed".
(2 Thess 1:10).
