Brief Statistics.

(1) Riedizione a prezzo economico dei primi due album del gruppo, uscita in parecchi paesi. La copertina, opera sempre della Hipgnosis, è un insieme di foto strane e bizzarre del periodo 1965-1969. Purtroppo, comportò alla sua uscita alcune noie legali: le primissime copie in circolazione riportavano in alto a destra la foto della vetrina di un negozio con la dicitura “W.R. Phang, Dental Surgeon”, che Storm aveva “catturato” con la sua macchina fotografica a Kingston-upon-Thames. Il signor Phang citò in giudizio la EMI per questa pubblicità gratuita non desiderata e vinse la causa, costringendo così la casa a ritirare dal mercato tutte le copie già distribuite. Di fatto, l’Hipgnosis dovette rieditare l’album con una nuova fotografia. Infatti, la successiva ristampa, riveduta e corretta, riportava al posto della foto originale, il ritratto di un monaco tibetano intento a fare i gargarismi, forse per polemica nei confronti del dentista permaloso. Ma sappiamo che non in tutti i paesi vale questa regola.

(2) Vi sono delle differenze tra le edizioni europee e quelle americane, nelle foto della copertina, come l'uomo con l'impermeabile e la foto della squadra di calcio. Inoltre, nell'edizione americana originale della Capitol (ed alcuni paesi derivati), il brano in studio classico di Astronomy Dominé è stato sostituito dalla versione dal vivo presa da Ummagumma, come del resto in Canada. Da notare che le persone della foto della squadra di calcio sono state individuate per: (in piedi, da sinistra a destra): 1. Chris Adamson (senza scarpe), 2. Arthur Max, 3. Roger Waters, 4.
