Un’Altra Rivelazione di WikiLeaks dalla Presidenza Bush Sui Miei Film ….

Amici,

Due volte in quattro giorni, il mio nome è comparso nelle comunicazioni segrete dell’era Bush scoperte da WikiLeaks.

Come sono fortunato.

Sebbene nulla si frantumi sulla terra come la scoperta dei misfatti USA in Iraq e Afganistan, tali informazioni classificate danno una sbirciatina bizzarra e sbalorditiva nelle menti paranoiche della White House di Buch quando si arrivò al soggetto di un Michael Francis Moore.

E considerando che WikiLeaks ha diffuso solo 1.826 informazioni della sua quantità pianificata di 251.287 -- e ho già giocato un doppio ruolo da star -- dico solo che aspetto con confusione l’anticipazione di come la mia storia finirà.

La rivelazione della notizia segreta più recente è sul giornale The Guardian di Londra di oggi.

E’ intitolata: “Gli USA intervennero nella proiezione NZ di Michael Moore”.

Oh si, bambino!

Nuova Zelanda!

Quello è dove noi fermeremo Moore e la sua banda di malfattori!

La data era il 30 luglio, 2004.

‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ era già un grande successo negli Stati Uniti.

Proprio per darvi un’idea di grandezza, esso aveva raggiunto il #1 al box office, l’unico documentario ad aver mai fatto questa impresa, e aveva realizzato di più nel suo weekend di apertura di ‘Star Wars: Return of the Jedi’.

Ma non fu un sentiero facile da percorrere.

La Disney (che possedeva Miramax) divenne apoplettica quando vide il taglio finale. Così lei estrasse il film dal suo programma teatrale.

Dopo lei mise un blocco permanente alla sua diffusione, assicurando che nessuno lo vedesse. Ma poi il New York Times, in una storia da prima pagina, riferì che la vera ragione per la quale la Disney odiava ‘Fahrenheit’ era che erano infastiditi per le esenzioni fiscali avute nella Florida di J. Bush per Disney World.

Questo causò qualche imbarazzo, così la Disney vendette ‘Fahrenheit’ alla Weinstein Bros., i quali dissero che avrebbero speso i loro denari per distribuirlo. La diffusione del film causò preoccupazione alla White House, poiché era l’anno della rielezione.

Commissionarono un sondaggio che disse loro che il film poteva capovolgere l’elezione. Ciò era abbastanza per loro per entrare in azione.

Gran parte di quel luglio fu uno sbarramento di attacchi senza fine su di me e il film. Ma ciò provocò proprio più biglietti venduti.

E questo portò noi a Wellington, la capitale della Nuova Zelanda. Ci sono poche nazioni sulla terra più lontane da noi.

Una sezione locale del Labor Party governante legittimamente aveva deciso di fare una raccolta fondi per proiettare ‘Fahrenheit’ 9/11’.

Esso era stato patrocinato dal Ministro per lo Sviluppo del governo del Primo Ministro.

Bene, quando l’ambasciata USA a Wellington ricevette la sua parola fu come se tutto l’inferno si fosse liberato. L’America era offesa!

Delle telefonate furono fatte al Primo Ministro.

Poi al Ministro del Governo.

Noi … non … siamo … felici!

Chiaramente, i Kiwi fecero marcia indietro e il Ministro del Governo ritirò il suo patrocinio.

Un sospiro di sollievo sbuffò fuori attraverso l’ambasciata americana.

Moore fu fermato!

La nota segreta mandata a Washington mostrò che l’ambasciata non aveva problemi a mettere la sciocchezza nella vostra verità: “E’ probabile che tale potenziale fiasco potrebbe essere stato prevenuto a causa delle vostre telefonate -- è chiaro a noi che ne il Ministro o nessun altro nel governo Laburista sembra aver pensato che ci fosse nulla di sbagliato se un Ministro anziano patrocinasse tale evento”.

Così ecco la mia domanda: Realmente?

Io voglio dire, seriamente -- Realmente?

Questo è come lo State Department di Bush passava il suo tempo -- su una singola visione di ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ nella bizzarra Nuova Zelanda?

O forse … era questo tipo di interferenza che accade proprio alla Nuova Zelanda? Chiamatemi pazzo, ma io mi sento che ciò non si ferma laggiù.

Proprio come un dirigente dell’assicurazione sanitaria si è presentato solo ora da denunciatore per rivelare i milioni spesi per sporcare ‘Sicko’, non posso aiutare ad aspettare quel giorno in cui il denunciatore dalla White House di Bush si presenterà per narrare l’affascinante racconto di come il team Bush credeva di dover fare qualcosa -- di tutto -- per fermare ‘Fahrenheit’.

O peggio (come il “Piano B” che le compagnie dell’assicurazione sanitaria discussero -- di “gettare Michael Moore giù da un dirupo”.).

Io non vorrei pensare a cosa potrebbe essere il Piano B di Bush.

Non era proprio meritevole di fare una pazzia.

Così io ignorai le cose che avrei dovuto percepire, tenni giù la testa e viaggiai.

Ma ciò non vi meraviglia.

E io vi chiedo, è giusto porre la domanda: Se essi erano concentrati su questo, una qualche insignificante proiezione in Nuova Zelanda, su cosa altro essi erano impegnati? E io non intendo nei miei confronti.

Intendo chi era sulla loro lista dei nemici ….

Non posso attendere e leggere più note segretate.

P.S. Certo, dati i falsi reclami che lo State Department fece nell’altra informazione “segreta” sul mio film ‘Sicko’, io ritengo che tutto sia possibile.

Per esempio, l’amministrazione Obama lavorò con i Repubblicani per sopraffare un’inchiesta in Spagna sulla tortura di Bush.

La Pfizer assunse un detective per scoprire lo sporco dell’Attorney General nigeriano.

L’ambasciatore di Bush in Francia progettò di “rivalersi” contro il paese per sostenere la Monsanto.

Friends,

Twice within four days, my name has popped up in the Bush-era secret cables uncovered by WikiLeaks.

Lucky me.

Though nowhere near as earth-shattering as the uncovering of American misdeeds in Iraq and Afghanistan, these classified cables provide a stunning and bizarre peek into the paranoid minds of the Bush White House when it came to the subject of one Michael Francis Moore.

And considering how WikiLeaks has released only 1,826 cables of its planned drop of 251,287 -- and I’ve already played a starring role twice -- I can only say I await with bemused anticipation how the moi-storyline will play itself out.

The most recent secret cable revelation is in today’s Guardian newspaper of London.

It’s entitled, “US Intervened in Michael Moore NZ Screening”.

Oh yeah, baby!

New Zealand!

That’s where we’ll stop Moore and his band of evildoers!

The date was July 30, 2004.

‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ was already a huge hit in the United States.

Just to give you an idea how huge, it had hit #1 at the box office, the only documentary to have ever accomplished this feat, and had made more on its opening weekend than ‘Star Wars: Return of the Jedi’.

But it was no easy path to get there.

Disney (which owned Miramax) was apoplectic when they saw the final cut. So they pulled the film from its theatrical schedule.

Then they put a permanent block on its release, insuring no one would see it. But then the New York Times, in a front page story, reported that the real reason Disney hated ‘Fahrenheit’ was they were worried about the tax breaks it got in Jeb Bush’s Florida for Disney World.

This caused some embarrassment, so Disney then sold ‘Fahrenheit’ to the Weinstein Bros., who said they’d spend their own money to distribute it. The release of the film caused concern at the White House, as this was the re-election year.

They hired a pollster who told them the film might tip the election. That was enough for them to swing into action.

Much of July was a nonstop barrage of attacks on me and the movie. But that just resulted in more tickets being sold.

Which brings us to Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. There are few nations on earth further away from us.

A local chapter of the ruling Labor Party apparently had decided to do a fundraising screening of ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’.

It was to be hosted by the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Secretary for the Environment.

Well, when the U.S. Embassy in Wellington got word of this, it was like all heck broke loose. America was offended!

Phone calls were made to the Prime Minister!

Then to the Cabinet Secretary!

We ... are ... not ... happy!

Apparently, the Kiwis backed down and the Cabinet Secretary withdrew as the host.

A sigh of relief whiffed its way through the American embassy.

Moore stopped!

The cable back to Washington showed the embassy had no problem taking credit for putting the kibosh on yours truly: “... it is probable that this potential fiasco may only have been averted because of our phone calls -- it is apparent to us that neither the Minister nor anyone else in the Labour government seems to have thought there was anything wrong with a senior Minister hosting such an event”.

So here’s my question: Really?

I mean, seriously -- really?

This is how the Bush State Department was spending its time -- on a single screening of ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ in freakin’ New Zealand?

Or maybe ... was this kind of interference happening just to New Zealand? Call me crazy, but I gotta feelin’ it doesn’t stop there.

Just as a health insurance executive has now come forward as a whistleblower to reveal the millions spent to smear ‘Sicko’, I can’t help wait for that day when the whistleblower from the Bush White House comes forward to tell the fascinating tale of how the Bush team believed they had to do something -- anything -- to stop ‘Fahrenheit’.

Or worse (like the “Plan B” the health insurance companies discussed -- to “push Michael Moore off a cliff”.).

I didn’t want to think about what the Bush Plan B would be.

Just wasn’t worth the crazy-making.

So I ignored the things I’d hear, kept my head down and motored on.

But, it does make you wonder.

And I ask you, is it fair to pose the question: If they were this focused on some insignificant screening in New Zealand, what else were they up to? And I don’t mean in regards to me.

I mean anyone who was on their enemies list ...

I can’t wait to read more classified cables.
