Records |
In this Record Section you can submit the highest records you have scored playing the
PC version of Puzzle Fighter. Since there are many options concerning the difficulty of
the game, the number of rounds of a single match, and other ones directly or inderectly
affecting the average amount of points scored in a game, the Record Section will be
split into different subsections, each containing a ranking for that particular 'kind'
of game and created as soon as records belonging to it will be submitted.
Standard options are:
- difficulty: 4 stars out of 8.
- Damage level: 2 stars out of 4.
- Game speed: 2 stars out of 4.
- CPU rounds: 1.
Until otherwise specified, the records refer to standard game options.
Just below there are the 'Best users of' rankings, dedicated to people who have scored
huge amount of points using a certain character. Once more, I think it makes no sense
to build up multiple empty sections, so each ranking will be created as soon as records
belonging to it will be submitted.

Submit a Record |
Here is what you have to do in order to submit a record:
1 - Save this form as 'Record.txt' and compile it. Note that you must
provide the compulsory data: I will not submit your record if a compulsory field is left blank.
2 - Make a screenshot of your record. In order to do this, your score must be the
highest in the data loaded by Puzzle Fighter at startup: I need your 'Max Chain' and 'Max Power Gem' scores too,
and these can only be found in the screen displaying the highest score.
How to make the screenshot:
a - wait in the presentation of the game until the score table is shown. First,
the game shows you the high scores from the 2nd to the 5th, then it shows you the
highest (1st) ranked score: as soon as the character's animation ends up, press the
PRNTSCR key (that key is just on the right of the F12 key). Doing this, you have just
copied what you're seeing on the screen into the Clipboard.
b - Exit Puzzle Fighter hitting a couple of times the F9 key.
c - When returned on Windows Desktop, launch your favorite image manipulatnig
program (eg: Paint Shop Pro) and paste the Clipboard's contents in a new image (in
Paint Shop Pro just press the Paste button, or open the Edit menu and choose Paste).
d - Save the image in .gif format, naming it 'Record.gif'.
3 - Zip the screenshot (file Record.gif) and the form (file Record.txt) in a zipfile
(eg: using WinZip) called 'Record.zip'.
4 - Send me an e-mail; put
the string 'Puzzle Fighter Record' in the subject field of the mail, and attach to the mail the Record.zip file.

Please Do Not Cheat |
Please DO NOT CHEAT! We are just a group of people sharing the same passion for this
wonderful puzzle game: DO NOT RUIN THIS FEELING! Be ranked on this website is just
equivalent to be ranked in the high scores table of your favorite arcade: it will not
bring you money, nor fortune, nor fame (or, at least, not THAT KIND of fame). Playing
a game is having fun: PLAYING IS NOT CHEATING!

Saturn/PSX Version |
Note to the owners of the Saturn/PlayStation version.
I am really sorry for the fact that this section is just opened to the owners of the PC
version of the game, but there is a valid reason: I do not know how to have a standard
objective evidence of the records scored on the two consoles. One idea could be running
the console's video feed though a computer's video card, being able that way to take a
screenshot of your record.
Anyway, don't be shy: if you could provide a standard objective evidence of your record,
please send it in. Just remember to write a couple of lines explaining how you managed to
get the screenshot... and I will probably have no problems to put your record online.
