Brief Statistics.
(1) Si tratta di una antologia di brani dei Pink Floyd volute dalla Capitol e per cui non stampata in Europa. Non tutti sanno che la copertina per l'album, illustrata da Ron Larson (e non dalla Hipgnosis) su direzione di Bill Burks, è stata ispirata dal poster del 1948 "Nederland industrialiseert" progettato dall'artista olandese Wladimir Flem. I brani sono: Side A: One Of These Days, Arnold Layne, Fearless (Interpolating "You'll Never Walk Alone"), Brain Damage, Eclipse; Side B: Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, See Emily Play, Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict, Free Four (Music From The Film "The Valley"), Embryo.
(2) "Brain Damage"/"Eclipse". La versione della canzone stampata su Works è un tantino differente da quella originale. Questo perché realmente sono differenti! La versione di Works non è presa dal mix originale di The Dark Side of the Moon, ma piuttosto dal mix quadrifonico. Questo prende un senso quando si considera che Works era una stampa Americana, della Capitol, e che la prima stampa in CD di The Dark Side of the Moon della Capitol fu presa direttamente dal master dell'album quadrifonico.
(3) Sembra che "Embryo" fosse stata aggiunta solo dopo, al posto di "Let there be more light", come risulta dalle prime bozze di copertina; la particolarità fu erroneamente riportata anche enl retro dell'edizione boliviana, tanto che si può vedere il titolo sbagliato originario sotto il brano "Embryo": infatti dopo "EMBRYO" c'è un piccolo spazio cancellato e poi si legge "BE MORE LIGHT" (sotto era stampata la canzone originaria della bozza del disco, "Let there be more light").
(4) Un particolare curioso: il barattolo di vernice che si trova nel retro della copertina talvolta è color grigio, talvolta color rosa, talvolta perfino fucsia; nel sito, pertanto, sono riportate le versioni conosciute, per una migliore conoscenza.
