INTRODUCTION
This website script bases on various TV series’ and OAV’s plots Nippon Sunrise has been producing since 1979 and that are centred around Mobile Suits technology. Built both for civilian or military purposes at the beginning of 21st century, mobile suits are anthropomorphic robots whose most famous type is the RX-78/2 Gundam, Federal Army’s champion during the “one year war” against Jion’s Principality. By the way, imagining mobile suits technology, japanese Gundam’s creator Yoshiyuki Tomino was inspired by the Power Suit Robert A. Heinlein wrote about in his novel "Starship Troopers" (1959).
The outcoming text developes all the various narrative outlines of each series and OAV in order to give an idea of a general historical and political context. That’s why some characters are considered more for their political or military role rather than for their human drama, and some others are not considered at all, with considerable differences from the original stories. Events take place during about two centuries, between 1999 A.D. and 153 U.C. (approximately 2240 A.D.).
Chapters one and two are based on the first TV series, Mobile Suit Gundam (1979), and the OAV Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket (1989) and The 08th MS Team (1996); chapter three is taken from the OAV Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory (1991); the fourth one and the fifth one from the TV series Z Gundam (1985) and Gundam ZZ (1986), as well as Gundam sentinel side-story; the sixth, is based on the movie Char’s counterattack (1988) and Double fake side-story; the seventh is inspired by the side-stories Hathaway’s flash, Gundam F90, Silhouette Gundam F91, and the movie Gundam F91 (1991); while the last chapter, the eighth, is centred around the TV series’plot Victory Gundam (1994).
It’s left to say that the series and the OAV concerning Gundam Wing, Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, Gundam X, G Gundam, or most recent Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny have nothing to share with the series and the OAV settled in the U.C. and considered in this site, but from being produced by Nippon Sunrise as well. The matter, instead, is different as far as concern " Gundam (aka Turn A), set in the continuum of U.C. as well, but so far in the future to be something totally apart and not considered in this site.
