During the fair set up in the rooms of the castle, many classes come to play with the “computer inventafavole” (tale inventing computer). I am still there with my old Amiga. From pictures random picked up, from quick and immediate processing, stories are told.

There is a story of tentacles from fractal random images.

Then a clown is morphing into Tut King.

Every class, during less then an hour, tries some different possibilities, exploring several programs and having ideas.

They tell their stories to a walkman recorder, one after another, till they agree and complete them. The pictures to put into the book are ready, as they are just the same that gave us the ideas.

With a colour ink printer and a graphic word processor, it is easy later to have a book finished.

There was a problem with the computer one day, so we did our “inventatorie” using paper cards and mixing them. The system, beyond technology and processing capabilities, is always the same: observing, imagining, finding solutions, together!

We used also a landscape generator, as well as programs and “demos” with 3D animation and environments, to go and fly trough. Look for such a software, it is possible to find for free, on magazines or on line. It can be interesting to learn how to pass, gradually, from almost random generations to more  controlled ones.
