CHILDREN DISCOVERING NATURE

My first project of environmental education (animazione) were the Esperienze guidate di accostamento all’ambiente (Guided Experiences of approaching Environment.), with 5 municipal nursery schools of Brescia, long ago in 1988.

Then I have been working much with the Social Centre Coop Lombardia, also in Brescia, since year 1997-98.

From the experience with 90 classes of primary and nursery school  nel 2003 as made a the CD ROM Alla scoperta della natura in città  (Discovering nature in the city).

In 2005 a video was made, Concittadini Inaspettati (unpredicted citizens), and with the same title, in 2007, a circulating photo exhibition is ready and available, with a multimedia catalogue.

During the outings children, organized in groups of “explorers-detectives”, go and discover interesting natural things in the chosen green areas and tell them to the video camera, between “science” and imagination, with a strong emotional involvement. Every school use then and set the picked up material, watch at the video shootings, choosing to elaborate the subject in the desired direction.
