2003. From the experience of 90 classes of elementary and nursery schools in Brescia, years 1997-2001, a CD ROM is published: Alla scoperta della natura in città (Discovering Nature in Town). Pictures, voices, some short videos and even a song and multimedia clips made by the children.

Here  the cover of a local CD ROM, about the experience of the first classes in the elementary school of Collebeato (Brescia), year 2002-2003: La natura e noi  (Nature and us)..

Along the years, the approach get simpler, the look sharper, the use of the basic tool (video camera) skiller. No lessons or instruction to the children, only: go, discover and enjoy!

From the camera to the computer, to process and share the experience with the others. The children of Brescia are the very authors of the communication!

Il Giocamare does not come from an experience of  animazione, but it is for children, and they like it. It is about Marine Protected Areas in Italy and they had been delivering it when the “Goletta Verde” (GreenSchooner) of Legambiente landed at ports and met children in summertime.

2005. Concittadini inaspettati (Unexpected Citizens) is the first 20 minutes video about animazione in environment , with  macro shots and “live” commentaries by the little discoverers. From the experience with 400 children of the primary schools in Brescia, discovering insects and small animals in the garden of their schools.

2006. The same work done with other children, included those of nursery school. Other surprises and commentaries, very interesting and often “unexpected”. A part of  these videos is re-edited in Summer 2008 to take part to the Children Television Festival in Barcelona.

2007. From the shots taken with a digital photo camara with a super macro lens, Concittadini inaspettati. is now an exhibition, available for schools, museums, libraries etc.

Looking closer. Garden of Rinaldini elementary school, 2004-05. A red mite walking the tree bark.

Rinaldini school. Lice bugs (hemiptera, tingidae), on a plane tree, with (maybe) a booklice (do you see it?)

Are they booklices (Psocoptera, Liposcelidae) or Collembola? They are very small of course!

The entomologist says probably they are Collembola. But the pictures we found on the books and the web didn't help us.

Same garden: a yellow caterpillar. Is it looking at us?

The smallest mashrooms grow amidst the moss on a tree.
