The Europa's Hotel

After all these movements for job reasons, the determined family of Francisco to move itself in 1920 to Hanford where acquired an old college in disuse in the Seventh Road, a building to the West of the railway station.

In the stable that they acquired, the Maccagno decided to open a Hotel with relative restaurant.

The Hotel called "Europe Hotel".
To the advanced plan there were three rooms that were rented to some gentlemen.

The house, that they bought in Hanford, had three bedrooms to according to plan, and was accessible only by an external scale.

They decided therefore to rent to these rooms to the agents travellers and to the flat earth they opened a restaurant.

The Europe Hotel was in a first time only a building close to the station.

It was an ideal place to stay for many agents travellers who a once visited Hanford.

Legions of agents travellers used offer with insistence their goodses in the small and great cities of this country.

In those years the commerce was a lot flourishing and therefore it was frequent that these enterprising agents travellers, turned the country far and wide in order to propose their articles, above all in the great cities of the north.

Mrs. Giovanna was an optimal cook and she was taken care stablily of the kitchen while Mr. Francisco took care itself of knows it from lunch.

There was also a billiard’s table for the recreation.
Mainly, Jennie was blocked in kitchen for the greater part of the time.
Fortunately Jennie had a window in its warmth and small kitchen that was just under the external scale that carried to the bedrooms.

Was also one door opened on the courtyard in the same wall.
Therefore it passed much time watching outside of the window, observing the scenes and the movements of its hosts.

Some time someone of they forgot the "rules" about the house and carried with if a friend, one "companion" on for the scales.

Jennie from its point of observation could see all. In those cases irrupted with decision.

And Bam!! It would be exited of the door, in order to remember to the host "No woman in these rooms!" After all the Europe Hotel she had of the rules! In fact, there was a trust with on the written one: "NOT WOMEN ALLOWED". No concurred women.

The daughter Caterina (Katherine) worked, in the meantime, a restaurant of Hanford and she married subsequently in 1920 with Sola Domenico, also He of piemontese origin.

Mr. Francisco death in 1940 and the moglie Giovanna remained in this house until to 1950, than subsequently he sold in order to move itself near the house of the daughter Katherine in the spring of 1952
