● Frederick Thomas was a doctor ● his probate details give the date of death as 15 FEB 1947, family sources as 18 FEB 1947 ● Pamela Watts Lye’s son’s wife (see below) comments: ● after the death of Matilda Louise’s brother, Percival William Norfolk, the latter’s daughter Doris Matilda Mary Norfolk went to live with Frederick Thomas and Matilda Louise, and they brought up their niece, who knew them as Uncle Nampie and Aunt Da [author’s note: Percival William Norfolk died Q1 1907, and his wife died 1955, but Doris Matilda Mary was already at the Knott home in the 1901 census, albeit as "visitor" (although relatives living with the family were sometimes shown as "visitor"), and in the 1911 census was at her Norfolk grandmother's home] ● a member of the Norfolk family recalls having her tonsils removed by Nampie - at home! ● Doris Matilda Mary married a Leopold G.
