| on second july | Shepherds’ procession finishes early in the morning and the costumed knights’ gathering starts. They wait for the end of the Solemn Pontifical Mass in the cathedral to escort the holy Virgin of the Annunciation’s Church in Piccianello quarter. Here they hoist her on the throne of a float made in papier–màché in the afternoon. The knights’ corps is a real guard of honour introduced in the XVI th century by the Count Giancarlo Tramontano. |
