Well-known cave from the excursion point of view, accessible, in the first part, also for not particularly equipped people, it is aim of Sunday turism. The cavity is known from time immemorial to the local inhabitants and has been equipped, at the end of the nineteenth century, by the Italian alpine Club of that period, with footbridges and stairways that allowed to climb above the Pissai Hall
nearby the grandiose waterfall.Into it live a typical fauna of a cold higher cavity with Diplopoda like Crossosoma semipes
and predator Opiliones like Ischyropsalis cfr. alpinula. Recent search of the author (1997/99) bring to the light a new species of Niphargus, a Gordius and a Planarian in study. In the waters of the inner river it's also possible find a large colony of crustaceans of the species Proasellus cavaticus
.During his visits, the author observed bats of the genus Myotis hanged to the vault of the main tunnel of the lower branch and, as 300 m from the entrance, clinged to the walls, many specimens of Barbastella barbastellus.
