Very beautiful cave with sub-vertical trend that alternate short pits, meanders, bottlenecks and little halls with splendid concretions.
Being this cave unexplored from the faunal point of view, the authore visited it in december 1999 also in order to complete, together to Michelangelo Chesta of Cuneo, the topography that was incomplete.
In the halls there are little basins concretioned, supplied by abundant dropping waters that generate a little rivulet that flows down (also in the bottlenecks, unfortunately).
This water basins are populate by a remarkable number of crustaceans, like Proasellus franciscoloi
(det. F. Stoch) and a population of Niphargus gr. debilis that is a zoogeographical enigma and probably is a new species for the science (F. Stoch in litteris).Besides the author picked up some specimens of a Diplopoda, Plectogona sp.
in study, and a lot of specimens of Sphodropsis ghilianii. Near the entrance there are Dolichopoda ligustica and Speleomantes strinatii, and Rhinolophus ferrumequinum in the first hall. The fauna of this cave is in study and in a short time the author will carry out specific search for the aquatic microfauna
and the Coleoptera.BIBLIOGRAPHY |
