STORY
Vampires are experiencing a period of decline:
after being defeated in battle many times and decimated by
Lycanthropes, their deadly enemies, Vampires’ strenght
is costantly diminishing.
The Council of The MASTERS, id est the High Vampires who lead
the people, is aware that the situation is very difficult:
as time goes by the Lycanthropes increase their power, while
Vampires are loosing their trust in their chiefs, and Chaos
and Anarchy are coming.
The Council decides that there’s a possibility to change
their fate: Vampires should search for the Ashes of Dracula,
the ancestor of the race and the most powerful Vampire of
everytime, and raise him from the death so that he re-establish
rules and leads the people of Vampires to the Victory (but
also without resurrecting him, Ashes alone would have a huge
symbolic power, giving confidence and cohesion to the people
of Vampires). For Vampires, Dracula’s ashes are the
equivalent of the Holy Grail for King Arthur’s knights.
The most loyal and skilled Vampires are so chosen
to accomplish such an important task. Among the chosen there
is NOT Katrina, a young Vampire whose lineage has felt into
disgrace over centuries, and who lives almost insulated in
a lonely and decrepit and by everyone forgotten castle.
As she was informed about the Mission, Katrina sees the unexpected
chance to regain the lost prestige of her family (and the
possibility to climb up again the caste of Vampires).
So she decides to embark herself in the quest. The series
narrates her (mis)adventures while engaged on the quest.
