KATRINA

She’ s the main character of the series, and she’s a Vampire (or, better, she’s the classic Sexy Vamp, both in her body and in her Night Creature Clothes).
She looks like a twenty-year-old woman, even if she’s more than fivehundred years old (she is quite young by vampires' standard) and she lives in a old, forgotten and shabby castle, alone with her servant Andre’ and her dog Boris (see following paragraphs).
Hysterical and frustrated due to her low social status (later the chapter about castes), the purpose of her life is to havea successful career, to regain Masters’ credit and to enter their club (and, above all, moving to more civilised sites, maybe even in Capital City). The mission she is going to shoulder (by her own decision) is so aimed to such a personal target, and it will become the pourpose of her life, a real obsession. Unfortunely (for her) we have to say that she is more determinated and persevering than lucky.

ANDRE'

Despite the average twenty years old young man look, André has been Katrina’s servant since his own childhood (practically the Vampire and the servant grow together). To bear Katrina he has to make use of all his Great skills of stoic patience! Contrary to his mistress, in fact, André is a quiet guy, that bear with everything without getting angry… in short, he demonstrates all of the skills that make Katrina getting crazy. Furthermore, Andre’ is a Lycanthrope for the half.
Even if he isn’t able to transform as real Lycanthropes do, he has some of their capabilities: the scenting, the fangs and – above all – the remarkable strenght and agility. So, he is also an effective bodyguard.
The relationship between Andre’ and Katrina is quite complex: they are Mistress and Servant, but Andre’ is wiser and less impulsive than Katrina, so that often he behaves as he was Katrina’s tutor (and "conscience"), rather than Katrina’s butler. He is also very loyal to Katrina, and for this reason he often acts unknown to her for her sake.

BORIS

Boris is a dog, a big hound with a quite likable countenance. Boris is also a vampire dog, as it was vampirized by Katrina during a periord of famine. Chased by humans, he has been living with Katrina since then, even if she doesn’t like it too much (a mutual feeling, but Boris has no sure place to go, and Katrina, besides André, has no friends and no social life, so also the company of a dog sometimes can help). In addition, Boris mentally (and mordaciously) comments its “Mistress”’s disadventures, in a similar way to Tintin's Milou (Boris doesn't speak, but we can read his thoughts).

LYCRA

Lycra is a Lycanthrope clan’s leader, and she’s among the ones that were chosen to terminate the Vampires searching for Dracula’s ashes. She’s a woman very active, resolute, unmerciful in her struggel against vampires: from her point of view Vampires are just scum, to be eliminated without pity.
She’ll get very troubled as she’ll get in touch with Katrina: due to Andre’. Andre’ will confuse her: in fact, he is partially a Licanthrope, so she judges him a betrayer of his race, even more abject than Vampires. But a succession of circumstances will lead her to admire Andre’, so creating the classic Love/Hate situation.
