Amarissimo (V. Maniscalco, F. Bernasconi). Brass quartet. There are fascinating words. “Amarissimo” is one of these. This was the name of an old out of work ship (favourite playing ground for children) parked in Cesenatico in the early 60s. This name is fairly popular in the signs of nightclubs and restaurants on the coast of Romagna (I). I don’t know its meaning. Bercandeon Blues (S. Caniato, F. Bernasconi). A new song for a new playing instrument ... De Amicitia (V. Maniscalco, F. Bernasconi). Brass quintet. A musical comment for a short story in which the friendship’s reasons and the moral’s reasons contrast.
Finisterre (V. Maniscalco, F. Bernasconi). Brass quartet. The Cabo de Finisterre is the most western part of Spain: ideally, there you can find the farthest border between earth and ocean, with all the phantasies that this involves. Lara Waltz (S. Caniato). Tuba Tabù (V. Maniscalco, F. Bernasconi). Song for big band. A tuba is trying to sneak in among the other instruments… In this version the trumpets, temporally unavailable, are replaced by the Bercàndeon, an instrument based on a new concept. In the “News” section you can listen to it playing a long solo. |
