The "California Pool"
painting depicts a swimming pool next to a modern house, with a diver
ready to take a dive from a diving board positioned on the left side of
the painting.
It pays homage to the famous
pop art painting by the British artist David Hockney, in which however a
large spray of water created by the diver appears, that is, a few
seconds before Trevisan's painting. In the painting there is a view of a
swimming pool with behind a building of modernist architecture of the
60s typical of Californian houses.
A yellow diving board
protrudes from the left side of the painting, above which a diver in a
white bathing suit is depicted a moment before her dive into the blue
pool, the edge of which is outlined by a blue stripe and a thinner white
one. The painting is projected into a horizontal dimension so as to
leave not only the diver but also the eye of the observer a free blue
space of the still empty swimming pool: it represents a dimension of
freedom on which to project both the dive and the dimension of our
dreams.
The colors used are
deliberately homogeneous and bold to emphasize the strong Californian
light and give the painting a pop art version. The yellow diving board
stands out dramatically on the turquoise water of the pool, which echoes
in the intense turquoise of the sky. Between sky and water, a blue
stripe: it is the Californian sea, the Pacific ocean that recalls a
distant horizon.
The architecture of the
building is represented by a rectangular block with two windows, in
front of which a folding chair and two characters, a man and a woman,
are clearly delineated. Palm trees on long, thin trunks adorn the
background of the painting both on the left behind the diver and on the
right behind the building.
Other palm trees and distant
buildings are reflected in the windows of the house. A row of low green
vegetation decorates his left side of the painting.
Size of the painting: cm 91 x
161 x 4 thickness. The artwork has a thickness of 4 cm and is also
painted in the top edge. It requires no frame and is ready to hang on
the wall.

Il
dipinto "California Pool" raffigura una piscina accanto a una casa
moderna, con una tuffatrice pronta a tuffarsi da un trampolino
posizionato sul lato sinistro del dipinto. Rende omaggio al famoso
dipinto pop art dell'artista britannico David Hockney, in cui però
compare un grande spruzzo d'acqua creato dalla tuffatrice, cioè pochi
secondi prima del dipinto di Trevisan.
Nel dipinto c'è una veduta di una piscina con alle spalle un edificio di
architettura modernista degli anni '60 tipico delle case californiane.
Dal lato sinistro del dipinto sporge un trampolino giallo, sopra il
quale è raffigurata una tuffatrice in costume da bagno bianco un attimo
prima di tuffarsi nella piscina azzurra, il cui bordo è delineato da una
striscia azzurra e da una più sottile bianca.
Il dipinto è proiettato in una dimensione orizzontale in modo da
lasciare non solo alla tuffatrice ma anche all'occhio dell'osservatore
uno spazio azzurro libero della piscina ancora vuota: rappresenta una
dimensione di libertà su cui proiettare sia l'immersione che la
dimensione dei nostri sogni.
I colori utilizzati sono volutamente omogenei e decisi per enfatizzare
la forte luce californiana e conferire al dipinto una versione pop art.
Il trampolino giallo si staglia drammaticamente sull'acqua turchese
della piscina, che riecheggia nel turchese intenso del cielo.
Tra cielo e acqua, una striscia azzurra: è il mare della California,
l'Oceano Pacifico che ricorda un orizzonte lontano. L'architettura
dell'edificio è rappresentata da un blocco rettangolare con due
finestre, davanti alle quali sono chiaramente delineati una sedia
pieghevole e due personaggi, un uomo e una donna. Palme su tronchi
lunghi e sottili adornano lo sfondo del dipinto sia a sinistra dietro il
subacqueo che a destra dietro l'edificio. Altre palme e palazzi lontani
si riflettono nelle finestre della casa. Una fila di vegetazione bassa e
verde decora il suo lato sinistro del dipinto.
Dimensioni del quadro: cm 91 x 161 x 4 spessore. L'opera ha uno spessore
di 4 cm ed è dipinta anche nel bordo laterale. Non necessita di cornice
ed è pronta per essere appesa alla parete.
