The Flying Carpet through the Mediterranean

The Flying Carpet represents to us a laic peace altar.

An extraterritorial space, round which to gather, build and imagine the history, reality and possibilities of a common identity on the Mediterranean seashores.

A great listening "ear" walking about the Mediterranean, collecting stories, be it ancient or contemporary, of cultural exchanges and crossings,.

A "tent" spanning the Mediterranean, under which to let meet those people whose art, sensitiveness and culture, are still available to listen, to face the "other", even when he or she seems irretrievably too close and too different.

These stories will progressively animate the network of a "common territory". A "Virtual Mediterranean", a freely accessible sphere, where to collect stories of the cultural crossings witnessed by this Sea.

The intention is to animate a net of sensory knots, sited within the civil societies of the different Mediterranean Nations, their interconnection will be possible thanks to the Flying Carpet’s journey in the Mediterranean.

The process of constructing such sphere will be undertaken by a research structure, animated by Stalker Laboratory, which we called the "Nomad University".
