The Partisans Cave is a fissure enlarged by percolation waters, situated over the built-up area of Rossana; above the entrance has been built a farmer house active until some dozen of years ago. In fact, in the entrance of the cave has been made the cellar of the house.
The fauna of this cavity is similar to the near Furnaces Cave (1010 Pi/CN), situated under the limestone mine along the road of the valley floor.
Remarkable is the presence of Doderotrechus casalei, Insect Trechinae discovered by Achille Casale in 1967, a true living fossil. In these caves lives also a Leptodirinae, Parabathyscia dematteisi
, less specialized than other piemontese Leptodirinae. Among the Carabidae Sphodrini we can number the eutroglophile Sphodropsis ghilianii and the less specialized Laemostenus (Actenipus) ginellae.Going in the Partisans Cave, the more impressive thing is the presence of a large number of troglophile grasshoppers, Dolichopoda ligustica
. Digging among the stones of the first hall and along the initial slope it's possible find endogean troglophile elements like the Isopoda Trichoniscus pusillus, the Opiliones Holoscotolemon oreophilum and some Pseudoscorpiones, Roncus sp.Moreover the author found a lot of Araneae Linyphiidae, probably Troglohyphantes sp., and a discreet population of Pimoa rupicola and Meta merianae.
