Guardando attentamente l'assonometria d'insieme della portaerei Aquila si puņ notare l'eleganza delle linee della nave che la fanno somigliare alle portaerei inglesi della classe Illustrious. L'isola con ampio fumaiolo ricorda vagamente quella della Lexington. Il ponte di volo, poggiante come nelle portaerei americane e giapponesi sul ponte corazzato inferiore, si arresta leggermente prima della prua mentre procede oltre la poppa. Le postazioni antiaeree sono equamente divise sui due lati della nave. Gli elevatori, prelevati nel 1942 dalla Graf Zeppelin, sono due e disposti sull'asse del ponte di lancio. |
