About Faleria
Between the Flaminia and the Cassia bis roads is an area rich in history. The medieval Anguillara Castle built in 1200, the Castello di Paterno, the San Giuliano Church built in 1257, the St Agostino Church built in 1300. the town is inside the Parco della Valle del Treja. A protected area since 1982 of over 1000 hectares.
The historical part of Faleria is on a tufaceous triangular hill in Tuscia - the ancient name given to the southern part of Etruria. The country-side is characterised by deep gorges surrounded by lush vegetation. Faleria offers many archeological and natural attractions, Mt Soratte, the Parco delle Valle del Treja, and the evocative ruins of ancient castles hidden amongst the woods.
The area is renowned fro its restaurants and trattorie that offer genuine home-made specialties accompanied by wines produced in the area.
