The Painting, the Gallery

In march 2023 Carlo Trevisan’s personal art gallery opens in Verona, after more than 35 years of painting and exhibitions all over the world.

A permanent exhibition of pictorial works without interruption with the sole intention of making the Italian public aware of the pictorial production which, above all in recent years, has developed solely in the foreign art world, from the United States to Australia, from Japan to South America.

Trevisan’s painting begins in the early years of his artistic activity in a surreal key and he remains faithful to this vision in these 35 years of artistic work, slowly and step by step carrying forward an artistic vision of his life.

Color and positivity, love and poetry immediately accompany Trevisan’s artistic creations, however, already from the first paintings, developing his personal technique representative of the surreal vision of life.

The painter creates in his mind the image of an idea and immediate is the key to his representation. There is never hesitation in front of the blank canvas, on the contrary there is the frenzy and the urgency to give life with color to those images that had come to life in the mind.

Thought is so in motion that everything is composed as in a magic number in which the wonder and surprise of a new play of colors and shapes that make the idea come to life from the top hat. And his brush is a magic wand that flows back and forth in a harmony of shape and color.

It is the metamorphosis of thought as an image in the mind to something concrete and real.

The fantastic composition comes to life and accompanies the creative thought of something unique and magical.

The palette is filled with light and accords with the romantic thought of the harmony of life. It is played with a smile and wonder and a positive critical sense of life and existence is transmitted.

The figurative but surreal pictorial language does not remain superior but accompanies the individual, in a game of roles in which we find ourselves involved and actors in the first person.

This is why a work by Trevisan often captures us from the first moment. It is like a spell of reality which with its immediate language enraptures and involves us in a fraction of time, but which then takes us by the hand and unknowingly enraptures us in our own thoughts, emotions, memories, personal flashbacks.

It is easy to capture the attention of someone who observes a pictorial work by Trevisan for the first time, but it is difficult to transport the interest into the depths of the emotional imagination by stimulating what Freud called “the game of captive clouds”, the illusion of to be free on a personal path, but which is instead guided in the forced metamorphosis of the unconscious.

La Pittura, la Galleria

 Nel marzo 2023 a Verona apre, dopo quasi 35 anni di pittura ed esposizioni in tutto il monto, la personale galleria d’arte di Carlo Trevisan.

Una esposizione permanente di opere pittoriche senza soluzione di continuità con l’unico intento di far conoscere al pubblico italiano la produzione pittorica che soprattutto negli ultimi anni si è sviluppata unicamente nel mondo dell’arte estero, dagli Stati Uniti all’Australia, dal Giappone al sud America.

La pittura di Trevisan esordisce già dai primi anni di attività artistica in chiave surreale e a tale visione egli rimane fedele in questi 35 anni di lavoro artistico portando avanti lentamente e passo dopo passo una sua visione artistica della vita.

Colore e positività, amore e poesia accompagnano da subito le creazioni artistiche di Trevisan sviluppando però già dai primi dipinti una sua personale tecnica rappresentativa della visione surreale della vita.

Il pittore crea nella sua mente l’immagine di un’idea ed immediata è la sua chiave di rappresentazione.

Non c’è mai esitazione davanti alla tela bianca, anzi esiste la frenesia e l’urgenza di dare vita con il colore a quelle immagini che avevano preso vita nella mente.

Il pensiero è talmente in movimento che il tutto si compone come in un numero di magia in cui dal cappello a cilindro prende vita la meraviglia e la sorpresa di un nuovo gioco di colori e forme che concretizzano l’idea.

E il suo pennello è una bacchetta magica che scorre avanti e indietro in un’armonia di forma e colore.

E’ la metamorfosi del pensiero come immagine nella mente a qualcosa di concreto e reale.

La composizione fantastica prende vita e si accompagna nel pensiero creativo di qualcosa di unico e magico.

La tavolozza è piena di luce e si accorda con il pensiero romantico dell’armonia della vita.

Si gioca con il sorriso e la meraviglia e si trasmette un senso critico positivo del vivere e dell’esistere. 

Il linguaggio pittorico figurativo ma surreale non rimane superiore ma s’accompagna all’individuo, in un gioco di ruoli in cui ci si ritrova coinvolti e attori in prima persona.

E’ per questo che spesso un’opera di Trevisan ci cattura dal primo istante.

E’ come un incantesimo del reale che con il suo linguaggio immediato ci rapisce e coinvolge in una frazione di tempo, ma che poi ci prende per mano e inconsapevolmente ci rapisce nei nostri stessi pensieri, emozioni, ricordi, flashback personali.

E’ facile rapire l’attenzione di chi osserva per la prima volta un’opera pittorica di Trevisan, ma difficile trasportare l’interesse nei meandri dell’immaginario affettivo stimolando quello che Freud chiamava “il gioco delle nuvole prigioniere”, l’illusione di essere liberi in un cammino personale, ma che invece viene guidato nella metamorfosi forzata dell’inconscio.
