The Villa Comunale " Carl Ruggiero ", named after its
founder and donor, was made in 1880 on the design of the Swiss engineer E. Fehr. It is a n extensive and beautiful park, unique in whole Calabria and very well-kept.
The area in front of the Villa Comunale consists in beautiful gardens with english lawn which has been recognized by the ministry of Cultur as a "National Monument of historical-naturalistic interest".
A marble-bust seems to welcome the visitors at the entrance of the Villa. Walking along the beautiful paths, lined by various bushes, you can admire, besides nice fountains and gargoyles enormous trees and botanical rarities like the virginia-broom, the Lebanese-cedar, the Cycas revoluta, the Giant-Sequoie, the Silver-lime and the Pěnus Pinea.
