The house of "De Stria"

The Building is situated in Siccardi Street and nowadays it is a high school. To witness the importance of its medieval origin we can still see the decorative brickwork frames which reproduce typical ornaments of the period: trilobate arches, leaves and the interwoven rope.

These decorations were reproduced in 1884 by the D’Andrade in the medieval village of the Valentino in Turin. The De Stria Family was a noble Eporedian stock that in different occasions hosted The Counts of Savoy during their visits to the city until the castle was completed.

In this house, in 1391, Amedeo VII, The Red Count (son of Amedeo VI) signed, together with the Canavisian Nobles and the representatives of the Tuchini, an agreement which put an end to the Tuchinaggio, a popular movement that had fought against the Canavisian feudatories several times.

Coat of Arms of the De Stria Family

The ancient House of the De Stria family as it can be seen today. One can clearly see the brickwork decoration and half of the contour of a window  with the house coat of arms above.
