BOEING 737 Throttle Quadrant construction - page 1

The 737 throttle quadrant

The 737 throttle quadrant is the heart of the engine and surfaces control system, and it is a very complex piece to build. If you like to test your do-it-yourself skills this is a good benchmark...! Fortunately on the net you can find many examples of all the possible solutions to the multiple problems that will be encountered during all phases of construction of this beautiful part.

The first phase consists in cutting all MDF segments and align them with 2 threaded bars

The base panel with segments 1-2.

The flaps lever and the aluminium detents ring

The central segment with throttle levers

The core of the throttle quadrant are of course... the throttles! I used the middle sector between the left and right engine throttle levers as the base for fixing most of the parts of the quadrant, the Saitek throttle control board, the two plastic quadrants and the cables.

The assembly of the segments

The speed brake segment
