Notes
1
A genealogical research has been carried out by René Kappers. A complete description is available in Dutch. Very interesting is the traditional family bible.Kornelis Kappers made notes in this bible about events that happened to his family. This tradition was started by his grandfather Harmen Joost Kappers and continued by his father Gijsbert Kappers. For this reason we know today some dates of marriages, births and deaths that are not registered in public documents.

The house where Kornelis Kappers lived in Brouwershaven is today (1999) decorated with a memorial tablet "birthhome of father Cats" (Cats was one of the most famous Dutch poets).
