Chilopoda, Lithobiomorpha, Lithobiidae - Lithobius scotophilus Latzel, 1887 - It is an eutroglophile Scolopender that lives in the Bossea Cave
and in other Cuneese cavities
. The antennas are very sensitive and the animal uses they to sound the ground, being completely blind. It is a predator that assaults any little arthropod that it can kill. It is frequent on decaying wood or under stones where there are organic substances in decomposition that attract a lot of inhabitants of the caves and of the subsoil. (Real size: 15÷20 mm).
