Arthropoda, Insecta, Coleoptera, Carabidae, Sphodrini

Insecta, Coleoptera, Carabidae, Sphodrini, Laemostenus (Actenipus) ginellae (Morisi, 1973) - Already called in the past "Antisphodrus (Laemostenus) ginellae" it is a troglophile Carabidae less specialized than Sphodropsis ghilianii. It has dark pigments and sometimes it's possible find it into the caves, also if its true habitat are the interstices among the underground rocks in the endogean environment. Its food regime is like that of the Sphodropsis, but on the contrary of that one, it has a more limited distribution area belonging the Pellice, Po, Varaita, Maira and Grana Valleys. The author has recently (in 1999) found a new station just in the Grana Valley, above Pradleves. (Real size: about 15 mm).
