Quasars are an Italian music group, founded on 8 June 1995 by Flavio and Andrea, work colleagues and music amateurs. Flavio writes the lyrics of the songs and is the singer of the group. Andrea takes care of the musical part, composes the songs and performs the instrumental parts with various synthesisers and drums. A mutual friend, Giovanni, joined the band in April 2000 and takes care of the electric bass and guitar parts. The band works exclusively in the studio and made a consensual decision to share their albums on the web for free. The first song composed by the Quasars was ‘The Prophet’, dated 1996. Four more songs were added to this one, including an instrumental, and the whole thing resulted in an album, entitled Empty Spaces, released in 2000. Despite being an amateur band, which meets in the studio during free time, the group's common opinion was to continue this activity and write more songs. In 2008, the second album ‘Lightears’ (conceived by us as a concept album) was completed. The personal situations of the various members of the band meant that since 2010 there was a very long break and an unproductive period, but the Quasars never disbanded and the passion remained. Andrea and Giovanni, meanwhile, have been busy with some of their personal music work, giving birth to albums of various genres. Flavio and Andrea are working, at the same time, on two new Quasar songs that we will soon be able to put on the web as individual tracks. Our genre, which we define as Space Rock, has led our musical evolution towards more traditional and less technological sounds, compared to the band's early years, but equally sophisticated.
