Sweep Picking and Arpeggio: First Steps > Base exercises: Lesson 2

In the "Lesson 1" we've exploited two types of exercises to learn the bases of
sweep picking on three fingerings: one major and two minor shapes.
In this lesson we exploit again the four types of exercises seen to learn other
fingerings.
They're a bit more difficult to perform than the previous one because they use
the same finger of the left hand more than one time, so:

- When you play two notes on adjacent strings on the same fret, the finger of
the left hand performs a little barre'. The difficult is in the fact you
must hear playing one single note at a time.
Until you can exploit the palm of the right hand to mutes the note
previously played, everithing's ok, but sometimes is more simple "to bend"
"to turn around" or "to tilt" the finger which do the barre'. So Changeing
the pressure on the strings, also with the barre' in position, we can push
one string at a time, playing than one single note at a time.
It's more difficult to say that to do, indeed the sweep performed with this
technique is even too quick, and it's easy to get excited!
Instead it's important to pick the notes keeping the time, the speed will
come.

- Instead when we play two notes on no adjacent strings, even on different
frets, it's necessary to move the finger of the left hand from one note to
the other one. With a bit of training you can improve the movement
acquiring agility in the performance which always have to pick the notes
keeping the time.

Here's then 6 new fingerings (you already know one of this), the left ones are
the shapes of the major arpeggio, the right ones to the minor arpeggio.

Now, basing on the 4 type of exercises seen in the "Lesson 1" I VERY WARMLY
SUGGEST to get practice also on the following fingerings:

Repeating the four type of exercises for each of this fingerings we have the
possibility to study the basis of sweep picking on other 24 exercises.
A fair quantity of work to distribuite in about 1 month. UP
