Release Dates. UK: 28 giugno 1968 (1° luglio 1968, per alcune fonti) - USA: 27 luglio 1968 - Italy: approssimativamente tra maggio e giugno del 1971.
Brief Statistics.
(1) La copertina del disco fu piuttosto complessa, con un collage di tredici immagini sovrapposte: alcuni fumetti della Marvel Comics, una vecchia fotografia di un alchimista, immagini di ampolline e bottigliette, una ruota zodiacale, il sole, alcuni pianeti, una piccola foto del gruppo sulle rive di un fiume fuori Londra. Lo strano effetto del collage di copertina fu ideato da John Whitely. Interessante ed unica è la copertina della stampa turca, che prese il motivo della copertina di Ummagumma, per cui, si suppone sia di produzione post-1970.
(2) Nella copertina veniva riportato il titolo, ma con due varianti: "y d pinkfloyd p" (per le edizioni europee) e "d pink floyd p" (per le edizioni americane e derivate).
(3) La data di uscita del disco è stata sempre fonte di dubbi e di controversie. La data più verosimile era il 28 giugno 1968, quella riportata dappertutto sino agli anni 2000, mancando le date ufficiali della Columbia inglese. Però, dopo una ricerca del 2010, basandoci su un piccolo trafiletto uscito il 29 giugno 1968 su New Musical Express (citato pure nel libro di Vernon Fitch), l'altra ipotesi era che fosse uscito il 1° luglio 1968. L'articolo diceva: "July 1st - Pink Floyd - A Saucerful of Secrets." con tanto di foto dell'album. Glenn Povey nel suo libro riporta ancora 28 giugno 1968, ma i dubbi rimangono.
