OTHER NOTES
The version of Where the Streets Have No Name which appears on this release is a different mix than that appearing on the Joshua Tree album.  It features additional backing vocals not heard on the album release.  The version which appeared on the Best of 1980-1990 was an edit of the album version, and not the same as this single version.

Silver and Gold was a solo song written and initially performed solo by Bono for the Sun City project.  The version found on this single is a rerecording of the track by the entire band.  Sweetest Thing was also rerecorded and was used to promote the Best of 1980-1990 release.  The original mix of the song, found on this single was used on the B-Sides compilation released with that disc.  It was released as a single in 1998.

Where the Streets Have No Name has become the highlight of the U2 live show for many.  It has been performed in each full show since the single was released in 1987 up to and including 2001's Elevation tour.  Live versions of the song have appeared on the Popheart / Please EP (Rotterdam 1997 performance), Hasta La Vista Baby (Mexico 1997 performance) and the Walk On single (Boston 2001 performance).
