OTHER NOTES |
New Year's Day, the first single
from War, is the first single
released simultaneously around the world. It was released
in various formats including a 12" vinyl, 7" vinyl, a
double 7" pack, and later a CD.
New Year's Day continues to be a staple in
live performances. It appeared on 1983's Under
a Blood Red Sky live EP. It appears again on 2000's Hasta
La Vista Baby live CD. The "Special Version"
edit of New Year's Day was also released on 1997's Best
of 1980-1990.
The "Long Version" of New Year's
Day is the same version that is featured on the album War.
