OTHER NOTES |
A curiousity to say the least.
A Celebration was released by itself as a 7" single in the
spring of 1982. The song itself would never appear on a U2
album. A promotional video accompanied the song's release.
The b-side had been a song performed live since the early days
of U2. It continued to be performed live into 2001's
Elevation tour. "Party Girl" as it became known,
was also featured on 1983's Under
a Blood Red Sky Live EP and the studio version would later
appear on the Best
of 1980 - 1990 B-Sides disc. "A Celebration"
has not been re-released in any form by U2 itself, although it
has appeared on a few compilations over the years, including the
Now That's What I Call Music 1982 Compilation, produced in 1999
in the UK. |
