The Other Side To Sailing

Silvio Dell’Accio, solo sea vagabond (a man who already spent nearly ten years sailing around the world, full time, in a 29 foot sailing boat and who has published hundreds of articles and several books) now, 60 years old, sails again for a new adventure, on a 37 foot sailing boat given to him from “Nautica” sailing magazine. The journey (along sea routes favored by vagabonds of the sea, from the Southern Mediterranean to the Panama and Suez canals) is due to begin in October 2003 From the Genoa Boat Show, to Israel and Arab countries (for solidarity, with those countries) and will last several years, during which the skipper will send several reports in his unique style, which combines clear technical explanations and fascinating tales of his own experiences and those of other vagabonds of the sea and always features excellent illustrations. Silvio, named "ambassador" from the association "Peter Pan" that is present the families of the sick children of cancer, will experiment most recent means for the telediagnosis with the CIRM (Centro Internazionale Radio Medico) and will be connected to Internet and www.nautica.it will feature regular updates on his whereabouts and the most important events. All material collected will also be published in several “Nautica Guides”. Considering the success enjoyed at the Genoa Boat Show 2002 (see the interview on National State TV News TG2, October 7 2002) it is clear that this operation will receive a great deal of public interest and therefore a good advertising response, also for those who will want to participate and contribute to the realization of this enterprise.
