Kites have undergone an extraordinary technical evolution and today could be used for more than just fun and daring adventures. The time is ripe for the birth of a new generation of kites capable of powering liferafts and small boats. In the coming years, the use of these kites as sails will be the greatest revolution in the nautical world since the inflatable raft, that began as a toy and became the most used boat all over the world, despite the initial skepticism of experts, in fact they represent almost 100% of the liferafts used today and they have saved the lives of many wrecked sailors. In addition we know that many yachtsmen don't pay enough attention to safety and so this new idea offers these people an entertaining water sport that can also save their lives in an emergency. At the Genoa Nautical Fair I presented my article published by "Nautica" magazine about using kites as emergency sails and the main Italian national television network aired several interviews with myself showing images of boats powered by kites. During these days I participated in the meeting on "Safety at sea". Also I have been interviewed on this subject by newspapers and other television stations. I participated in a "Survive" exhibition in the Gulf of Talamone in which I saved myself using a raft powered by a kite after a simulated wreck (see photo). The exhibition was shown on several, national and local, TV networks and on many newspapers.   So much interest has been raised I have decided to cross the Atlantic by myself in an inflatable liferaft powered by kite to demonstrate the practicality of my idea and to catch the attention of the media in this new way to save lives at sea. By the experience obtained after several decades of ocean navigation sailing alone in small sailing boats, working as a technician and building kites, I can offer the best guarantee of success with a minimal cost. It is highly likely that this adventure will become known around the world and as such should provide a major promotional tool for investors interested in sponsoring this project.
