I love Naples because it reminds me of New
York ...
As New York is a city that falls to pieces and in spite of everything
people are happy…
What I prefer more in
Naples is to visit all the old families in their old
buildings that seem to stand held together by a rope, giving almost
the impression of wanting to fall into the sea at any moment.
In Naples there is
also the best fish, the best pasta
and wine better.

starting from the B & B our guests can walk to visit the main sites
of historic and artistic city following this route:
Itinerary
"Walking through the Old
Town":
From B & B in 3
minutes on foot you will arrive in Piazza
Bellini where you can admire the remains of ancient walls Greek-Roman, before declining in San Sebastian street,
on the right there is one of the 4 ancient ports of Naples: Port'Alba, from which start the street of the old
bookshops.
At the end of San Sebastian street,
you will find Benedetto
Croce street, also known as "Spaccanapoli." Continuing
right you will find the Church of Santa
Chiara, with the monastery and
cloister of majolica, and then Piazza
del Gesů, where you can visit the homonymous church.
Go back and walk
away Benedetto Croce street in the
opposite direction, going toward Piazza
San Domenico Maggiore, with its church, and via De Sanctis where is
the splendid Chapel San Severo
which houses one of the most famous and admired sculptures in the
world, "Christ veiled
".
Before continuing,
we recommend a "sweet"
stop at the ice cream shop "La Scimmia" or a
“sfogliatelle” of the Pastry "Scaturchio." Continuing along
"Spaccanapoli" you
will find the statue of the God
Nile, known as "the body of Naples", and directly opposite
the newsstand votive semi-seriously dedicated to the "hair of
Maradona."
Later you will find on the left Via San Gregorio Armeno, the
street famous worldwide for the old shops which create handcrafted
cribs and pastors of terracotta. Climbing toward Piazza San Gaetano, where you will find: the Basilica of St. Paul Major, the
Church of San Lorenzo Maggiore
with its annexed excavations and the "Napoli Sotterranea" where you can visit the ancient
underground cavities of the greek-Roman
The square is crossed by Tribunali street, the way in which you will find some of
the best pizzerias in Naples,
(I Decumani, Di Matteo, Sorbillo, The President), "Limonč", the liquor
distillery of "Limoncello", and "Pastry Mazzaro" where you can taste the sweet typical
Neapolitan, as the babŕ, pastiera and sfogliatella.
Take "Tribunali street"
until it crosses with Via Duomo, go straight to square Sisto Riario
Sforza, where you will find the Pio
Monte della Misericordia in which it kept the work of Caravaggio "The seven
works of mercy." Back then, on Via Duomo and climbs up to the Cathedral of Naples, where are
kept the relics of San Gennaro .
OTHER
SITES TO VISIT:
· The National
Archaeological Museum can be reached in 3 minutes on foot, from
here, after about 500
meters long by Pessina street, we arrive at
Piazza Dante heart of historic centre of Naples and of the shopping.
· The National Museum of Capodimonte
is far 10 minutes with bus stop along Via S. Teresa degli Scalzi.
· The Campi Flegrei (Cuma, Pozzuoli, Solfatara) are connected by taking the line
2 metro
at Piazza Cavour (4 minute walk), direction Pozzuoli, get off the line.
· The islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida can be reached by ferry from Molo
Beverello reachable by bus “24”
for Castle Park, get off the line near the port, or about 12 minutes on
foot.
· The Sorrento Coast
and locations of archaeological Herculaneum
and Pompeii
are reachable using the line 2 metro at Piazza Cavour in the
direction Gianturco, get off at Central Station in Piazza Garibaldi,
then Circumvesuviana railway line.
