Design of memory cards controller prototypes A class of non volatile memory-based card ( SD and MMC cards ) has been implemented following a methodology which help in increasing performance through an automatic RTL coding, Design flows have been explored to improve accuracy in analysis and specification, formal correctness in the design stages, speed in the design process, interoperability This system supports:
a class of standard communication protocols, MultiMedia Card (MMC) protocol and its derivatives, and Secure Digital (SD) Memory Card protocol and its derivatives;
the driving of a set of NAND Flash based memories, ranging between 32MB to 2GB and more, with different architectures (i.e. 512B or 2KB page size);
modularity in design, allowing to develop the right solution upon customer request; required features should be available as add-on items
IP building : Cryptographic algorithms and Communication layers;
Implementation of Human interface for applications ( Image storing, Speech recognition and recording)
A speech recognition system suited for handheld computers and wearable devices has been developed. It is able to perform the recognition of a context-dependent set of voice commands, enabling voice control of user applications. The system is based on an ultra low-power speech recognition chip implemented in 0.25um CMOS technology. It has been developed on an expansion board suited for handheld computers
As example, Palm-OS game SubHunt has been driven by vocal commands using the system described above
Development of User interface and Flash memory–based file system. System allows to record, listen and “edit” messages, adding streams in any position of an existing message. Data are stored on a non –volatile memory, and managed on a proprietary file system
I had the opportunity to work on many aspects of technology, from CAD to security, from software applications to design.
Here below some contributions in terms of patents, papers and ideas. Among others:
A method for increasing the equivalent computational precision in an analog associative memory (patented);
A proposal for the use of a fingerprint sensor device as a four button pointer (abandoned)
