Daniela
1) how long you have been working
Ciclismo Classico decided (incredibly) to hire me in April '99 and in that season I leaded 7 tours in
Tuscany.
This year I lead tours in Sud Tyrol, Puglia and Tuscany.
2) what do you do in your free time?
I'd like to have free time. In winter and when I'm not leading CC tours I work since 20 years as a goldsmith in a factory in my town Vicenza. From
1987 to 1999 I was the president of a "cycle ecologist" club in my
town. I spent every summer holidays since 1989 cycling in Europe and in North America. If I
don't have anything else to do sometimes I spend some minutes with
my wife Daniela!
3) favorite tours to guide
Every region in Italy is wonderful in its special way; I love the landscapes and
towns of Tuscany, the incredible food and atmosphere of Puglia and our unique
mountains Dolomites especially at sunset after a long hiking day.
4) favorite moments on tour
I love to show my country to foreigners and I like to hear their
"OOOOoooohh" that they say an every surprise that we organize during
the tour and an ever terrific scenery that they see.
5) what are the easiest parts of the job?
I realized that is quite easy to sleep every night after hard days working.
It's also nice to lead a group when there is good harmony between each other.
6) what are the hardest parts of the job?
The rainy days are sometime tough and to manage a group with big differences in cycling skills is not easy.
7) what is your specialty?
I have good time when I act as a "maestro" during the Italian
lessons, and so far the clients enjoyed that (for what they told me!). I'm pretty sure
that is a big help to understand the culture and how a country works, if you can read some words in the
language. What do you think about?
See you on the road!
