THE SCHOOL

From ancient times in Ivrea there were major schools and, to have no lack of teachers, the statutes offered them privileges: they were protected by the commune, treated as citizens, and protected by an escort during their outward journey.

In 1308 Facio di San Paolo de Guislanis was appointed administrator of the schools of Ivrea and nobody else but him could read and teach the art of grammar.

During the lessons he had some collaborators which helped the students to repeat the notions learnt.
