Nel 1968 iniziai la mia vita lavorativa in un cantiere navale al porto di Civitavecchia come aggiustatore meccanico motorista di bordo,
ebbi la fortuna che la mia società possedeva 3 rimorchiatori con motore a vapore, quelle macchine storiche mi affascinarono a tal punto che in poco tempo per me non avevano più segreti.
Ricordo che mi rammaricai un pò quando vennero sostituiti con i più moderni e potenti motori diesel, era giusto cosi "la tecnologia va avanti".
Per tanti anni pensai alla costruzione di un modello funzionante a vapore.
Mi decisi poco prima di andare a riposo,ma il tempo ormai era poco per la costruzione di una macchina a triplice espansione, allora optai per un mono cilindro doppio effetto.
Feci un progetto, un disegno ed iniziai la costruzione delle parti dove necessitavano macchine utensili particolari lasciando quelle che potevo fare con l'uso di utensili a mano ,ed ecco il risultato.
