REVOCATO SCIOPERO venerdì 15 dicembre

TELEVIDEO ORE 18.52 Revocato sciopero nazionale metro-bus Accordo raggiunto a Palazzo Chigi sul contratto degli autoferrotranvieri. Revocato lo sciopero di 24 ore.
L'astensione dal lavoro era stata indetta per domani, senza servizi di garanzia. Lo hanno annunciato, al termine dell' incontro con il governo, le organizza- zioni del settore.

Our last lesson will take place as scheduled, Friday, Dec. 15th, 3 to 5 pm.
We will discuss how to do the last project (Task 4) and conclude on “speaking English with empathy.”

Some people probably have made plans to be elsewhere, thinking that the strike was certain.  Therefore I will NOT count presences, give an esonero or in any other way make it necessary to come, provided you contact one of the students present to find out how to do Task 4.







Since I am late posting the evaluation form for TASK 1, you have an extra day to do the assignment!

Send your report to your group leader by Saturday, 25 November. Your Group Leader should mark it and send it to me by noon on Monday, November 27th . Sending it in earlier to your group leader, so that I can receive it earlier than Monday morning, would be appreciated.





 

Venerdì, il 17 novembre, malgrado le superstizioni e lo sciopero, si farà lezione. E' importante la vostra presenza. Non ci saranno problemi di trasporto; i trasporti saranno normale (lo sciopero dei trasporti inizia la sera dopo le 20.30 e fino a notte inoltrata).

Venerdì dobbiamo concordare l'attività da portare avanti la sera di lunedì, 20.11.06.

Infatti, lunedì la lezione sarà come normale -- dalle 15 alle17 -- poi dopo ci sarà un incontro con gli studenti di Trinity College per un party al loro campus dalle ore 20 alle ore 22. Durante il party svolgerete la vostra prima attività per il nostro corso. Chi non potrà partecipare avrà qualche capitolo in più da leggere per l'esame che richiederà un numero di ore uguali a quelle che gli altri passano per fare l'attività. Quindi chi non potrà partecipare non sarà penalizzato sul piano complessivo del lavoro da svolgere, solo rispetto alla qualità del lavoro da svolgere (leggere anziché intervistare).

Questo venerdì dunque dobbiamo prepararci bene per lunedì. Questo è il secondo motivo per il quale faccio lezione venerdì.

Il primo motivo è che non sono tanto d'accordo su questo sciopero, che riguarda sopratutto i professori universitari. Vogliono più soldi per l'università e sarebbe giusto, solo che bisogna vedere come spendono poi i soldi che arrivano. Sono in una commissione per implementare la Riforma Mussi e creare i nuovi corsi di laurea (triennali e di specializzazione) per l'anno prossimo: ebbene certi colleghi stanno facendo del tutto perché le cose rimangano come prima.

Groups should be ALL “OCI” students or ALL “LL” students (not mixed).

If you cannot find enough students to form a group of 6, tell the Class Secretary.

    -  The Attendance Sheet gives the names of the group members in squares containing a grey box  . 
    -  The Group Leader puts P (present), A (absent) or X (late or left early) in each grey box  . .
    -  Leaders also put L1 (or L2, L3...) after their name to show who is the leader for that week.
        N.B.  If a Leader is absent, the group nominates a substitute who signs the Roll Sheet but who does
                    not put L1 (or L2...) after her name, unless the substitution is permanent for that week.
    - The number between the first parentheses gives total absences so far (max. 2 absences in a module with 10 lessons in all, 3 absences for a module with 15 lessons in all, 4 absences in a module with 20 lessons, etc.). The second number gives the times the student was late or left early. After three such times, the number of absences is increased by one.
