Mac Operating System
Mac OS is Apple's Operating System developed for Macintosh computers since 1984. The name is the acronym of Macintosh Operating System. Mac OS refers to two Operating System families: Mac OS Classic and Mac OS X. The first model of Mac was sold at the price of 2495 $ and it had an amazing succes thanks to its being user-friendly. The interest for Mac increased so much that it is still a widespread standard in tipography, photo studios and publishing companies. Apple redesigned the kernel of Mac Operating System completely so giving many improlements. In the first years of 1990 was announced among Apple Computer, IBM and Motorola to develope a new series of CPU RISC called PowerPC. Then Steve Jobs, in 2005, announced the transfer from PowerPC processors to CPU Intel. Comparing Mac OS X Operating System with Windows Operating System, emerge some advantages: use easiness, stability, security and some disadvantages: limited range of computers, more expensive pcs and reduced programs availability.
