	23 Gennaio: In uscita in vendita il DVD Regione 2 di "9 Settimane e 1/2" (Fox) e la VHS del film "La mossa del diavolo" (Medusa, € 11,99).
	29 Gennaio: In uscita il DVD Americano del film "I miei problemi con le donne" ("The man who loved women"). Il prezzo sarà di $ 24,95, color, widescreen, closed-captioned, Di Leonard Maltin: "Lackluster, snail's pace remake of the François Truffaut film--minus the climactic revelation that gave the earlier movie its point. Reynolds gives one of his most appealing performances, but spends an eternity discussing his adoration of women with stone-faced psychoanalyst Andrews. Director-writer Edwards gave coscreenplay credit to his own psychiatrist!".
	5 Febbraio: In uscita il DVD Americano di "Appuntamento al buio" ("Blind Date"). 6 gennaio - News sull'uscita americana di "8 MILE": ""Director Curtis Hanson and Producer Brian Grazer have announced a hopeful June or July release to the Detroit Free Press. The production will wrap in a little over a week around January 10th, as the opening scene in a club called 'The Shelter' (I don't know if this is an actual place in Detroit, or whether fake signs will be made and placed on a building) is filmed. Anyways filming will wrap after in Detroit (around Jan 10th) and post-production will move to LA..a second trailer is expected in late Spring.".

7 gennaio - News su "People I Know": Se le stelle dotate di (naturale) parola non vogliono restare a guardare il trionfo dell’imponente zoo di star in formato animale che Hollywood accoppia sempre di più all’invadenza della virtualità totalizzante degli effetti speciali, allora bisogna di riscoprire l’antica ricetta di fotografare in mezzo agli occhi l’America e la sua gente. Senza reticenze allo zucchero filato. Contro i cani, i gatti, i dinosauri e le scimmie che conquistano il box office, il miglior antidoto è ancora quello di andare a scoprire come, quando e perché il “sogno” è diventato un incubo. Già, gli ideali di una vita erano stati il tesoro propulsivo del protagonista di People I Know, il “noir” di Natale (nelle sale degli States) che raduna, sotto la regia di Dan Algrant, una coppia di interpreti ad alta definizione divistica, Al Pacino e Kim Basinger. Ma il tocco del casting, se chiama a raccolta anche l’ex innamorato di Love Story Ryan O’Neal , non dimentica certamente i gusti del pubblico giovanile con la presenza forte di Tea Leoni, l’emergente targata Jurassic Park III, e della top-model Sophie Dahl. C’è un eroe alla disperata ricerca dell’ultimo hurrà. E’ Eli Wurman, un tempo strenuo paladino degli oppressi e ora addetto stampa dei vip che hanno bisogno di nascondere qualcosa. Ma Eli (Pacino, naturalmente) vuole imporsi una svolta: organizzerà una serata di gala a New York per ristabilire un rapporto di amicizia tra la comunità ebraica e gli afro-americani. Il ricavato andrà a beneficio di una giusta causa: difendere un gruppo di haitiani finiti in galera sotto l’accusa di spaccio di droga e che il rude sindaco della Grande Mela vorrebbe espellere dopo aver impedito che potessero difendersi in un regolare processo.  Intanto Eli deve mantenere i difficili rapporti con due volti cinematografici, Sydney Falco (Tea Leoni) e Cary Launer (Ryan O’Neal). E, proprio Launer lo chiama in piena notte per affidargli l’incarico di accompagnare in aeroporto una ragazza bella, famosa e frequentatrice dei letti che contano, Jilli Hopper (Sophie Dahl). Eli si reca all’appuntamento e vede uno sconosciuto uccidere Jilli. Il giorno dopo leggerà che la Hopper è morta per un’overdose.  E’ l’inizio di una parossistica congiura che rischia di travolgerlo. Troverà aiuto nell’avvocatessa Victoria “Viccy” Gray (Kim Basinger), la donna che ama in silenzio anche perché è la moglie del suo fratellino…People I Know ha molte suggestioni con la realtà. Eli Wurman, sostenitore di Martin Luther King e Bob Kennedy, è ricalcato sulla figura di un leggendario cavaliere dei diritti civili, Bobby Zarem; Cary Launer divo liberal ed epicureo ricorda alla lontana Warren Beatty, mentre non c’è dubbio che il sindaco dalla mano pesante e con tutta l’intenzione di diventare senatore sia un clone di Rudy Giuliani. Uno spartito con morale sull’opinione pubblica (la sua manipolazione) e sulle pratiche basse della politica fissata al livello di un vergognoso complotto. Un palcoscenico per Pacino, ma anche, forse, l’ultima possibilità che ha Kim Basinger per dimostrare di non aver “ballato” soltanto per Nove settimane e ½.".

9 gennaio - Il produttore di "8 mile" mette a tacere i rumors su Kim & Eminem: "Grazer Denies Eminem & Kim Basinger Romance Cindy Adams of the New York Post talked with '8 Mile' producer Brian Grazer who denied reports Eminem and movie co-star Kim Basinger were an item. Grazer said, "Tabloid rumors du jour are saying they're having an affair. That's good for the movie, but they are not having an affair. They're so not. They walked out of a restaurant together. Period. If they were really together and I were asked about it, I'd say, 'I don't know.' But I know. They're not." The producer also said Slim was a "disciplined workaholic" and "a sweet guy." there finishing it this month...thats only a trailer of what they have done so far..... plus why does kim basinger husband say:- Star reports Alec Baldwin is furious over reports that Eminem and his estranged wife Kim Basinger are having an affair on the set of their movie '8 Ball'. An insider said, "He couldn't believe Kim would be interested in someone like Eminem, who's almost 20 years younger. He's jealous.". The National Enquirer reports Eminem's ex-wife Kim Mathers is said to be furious over reports he's been romancing Kim Basinger on the set of his new movie. A source blasted, "Kim Mathers is on the warpath -- and Kim Basinger had better watch out." While the couple had a long and turbulent relationship, the friend added, "Even though Kim filed for divorce earlier this year she still carries a torch for him. The rapper and Alec Baldwin's ex met on the set of his upcoming movie - where she plays his character's mother.The pair have been spotted holding hands and kissing on-set. One employee on the film, currently known as the "Untitled Detroit Project," reveals, "Everyone's talking about them. Every time they stroll off together the tongues start wagging. They've been coming and going from set together, holding hands, walking arm-in-arm and had hands all over each other for weeks now. "Kim was apprehensive at first - there is nearly a 20 year age difference - but after a while she thought, 'He's very cute and he has a great body, men can do it so why can't I?' Eminem was flirting with her from the moment she came on set. He kept calling her 'my sweet honeypot' and 'the Oscar babe'. "He is a really big Kim Basinger fan and has seen every movie she has ever made - including some of the real stinkers!". The hip hop hero had earlier been reported to be engaged in an onset affair with "Clueless" actress Brittany Murphy, who plays his wife in the film.".

15 gennaio - Incidente sul set di "8 Mile": "Crew Members Injured On Eminem Movie Set. Four Workers Treated, Released. Four crew members were injured Sunday night while working on a film involving Detroit hip hop artist Eminem. A film company representative said that the four people suffered first-degree burns while filming the movie "8 Mile." The film is reportedly based loosely on the Detroit rapper's life.  The crew members received minor injuries, and were treated and released from a local hospital. The workers were burned during a scene in which a home was to be intentionally burned, the company said.  Imagine Films is producing the film for distribution through Universal Studios.  The film tells the story of a rapper named "Jimmy" and his three friends on Detroit's east side. Eminem, whose legal name is Marshal Mathers, stars in the film".

17 gennaio - Terminate le riprese di "8 mile", l'uscita prevista è per il 19 luglio 2002: "Eminem's '8 Mile' Wrapped Filming, Rapper Apologizes To Mom In Song. The filming of Eminem 's movie 8 Mile wrapped Friday (January 11) in Detroit. The movie, now in the editing stages, is scheduled for a late summer release, and also includes appearances from Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer, Xzibit , Eugene Byrd, and Anthony Mackie, who played Tupac in the off-Broadway play Against The Wind. Director Curtis Hanson, who also directed L.A. Confidential, explains the significance of the movie's title on Eminem's Shady Records website. "The people in Detroit know 8 Mile as the city limit, a border, a boundary. But there is a dividing line that separates each of us from where we want to be and who we want to be. We all have our own 8 Mile.". The controversial rapper is also expected to issue a soundtrack for the film, as well as a solo album sometime this year. Despite Eminem's profuse public squabbling with his mother, he expresses apologetic lyrics about their relationship during the movie's trailer, rapping, "Mama, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you.". Eminem's 2000 solo album, The Marshall Mathers LP, has been certified eight times platinum".
