(...) Umberto Bombardelli's musical work seems to me as being supported by an ideal which is perceived as true; by a communicative power that becomes inner participation... The relationship between Bombardelli and the musical materials is therefore a friendship: friendship with the consequences of the "theme", of the initial intuition.... At the beginning there is a spiritual urgency, an inner claim, a requirement that becomes a musical object through the compositional work (...)

Bombardelli's music is not negation, project, ideology, process; it is an imaginative object, where fantasy and invention are related to the pencil, mind and thought , to education and compositional tradition. But before everything they are man's qualities; this is the reason of their charm, a listener's grace which becomes comunication. That way, the listener perceives no only the beauty of forms and the skill in construction, but also their authencity (...)
